Paul has over 20 years of experience in the preservation industry and is the main surveyor and a director at CK Walker Damp & Timbers.
He began his career in 2003 as a qualified plasterer (NVQ Level 2 in Solid Plastering) before expanding his expertise in damp proofing, timber preservation, and structural waterproofing (PCAQT) through training with Biokil Crown, Sovereign Chemicals, Safeguard Europe, and the Property Care Association (PCA).
After years of hands-on work, Paul pursued surveying qualifications, completing extensive training and mentoring. He now holds:

Chris brings over 40 years of experience in plastering and damp proofing.
His career began with a five-year plastering apprenticeship after leaving school, where he developed a strong foundation in traditional and modern plastering techniques. Following this, he spent a decade working for Erewash Borough Council as a plasterer, honing his expertise across a wide range of residential and commercial projects. During this time, he also received specialist training in damp proofing and timber treatment, gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving moisture-related issues in buildings.
In 1991, Chris took the next step in his career by establishing his own plastering and damp proofing company, where he built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship and expert solutions. Through years of hands-on experience, he developed a deep understanding of damp control, timber preservation, and structural repairs, helping countless homeowners protect their properties from moisture-related damage.
Julie has been running an office since 1991, bringing a wealth of experience in administration and customer service. As the backbone of our office operations, she ensures everything runs smoothly, from handling enquiries to coordinating appointments and supporting our team.
With her extensive industry knowledge, Julie has developed a deep understanding of damp proofing and timber treatment over the years. She is often the first point of contact for our customers, offering friendly and knowledgeable advice on damp-related issues and guiding clients through the initial stages of their property concerns.
Her efficiency, organisation, and expertise make her an invaluable part of CK Walker Damp & Timbers, ensuring both our team and customers receive the best possible support.
Remedial Technician & Plasterer
Paul joined the team in February 2025 and brings a wealth of experience as a multi-skilled tradesman. With a background in both plastering and joinery, he has honed his skills over the years, working on a wide range of projects that require precision and attention to detail.
His versatility and expertise allow him to tackle a variety of tasks, ensuring the highest quality of work across different aspects of property maintenance. Whether it's plastering or joinery, Paul is dedicated to delivering exceptional results that meet our clients' needs.

Danny joined our team in July 2021 as an apprentice, eager to develop his skills in the preservation industry. During his apprenticeship at Derby College, he successfully completed a plastering qualification in 2024, laying a strong foundation for his career.
In addition to his plastering expertise, Danny has recently become a Property Care Association Qualified Technician (PCAQT) in remedial treatments and structural waterproofing. He has also expanded his skill set by completing a carpentry course and attending several PCA training courses, including those focused on Health and Safety and Understanding Traditional Building Construction.
Danny holds a current Asbestos Awareness certificate, ensuring his work adheres to the highest safety standards.
